A frightening video making the rounds on the internet is serving as an important reminder to everyone that children should always properly restrained when they are in a vehicle.
Two toddlers were captured on camera walking in the middle of a Texas highway after being thrown from a vehicle during a crash Sunday.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed a two-car crash occurred on Sunday, August 11 on Interstate 10 in Freeport, causing one vehicle to flip several times, “ejecting” an adult and two small children.
Video of the immediate aftermath of the accident was originally shared on Facebook.
“The kids stood alone, a good sign. Just scrapped up,” the person who originally shared the video wrote.
Following the crash two men were seen running towards the dazed toddlers and rushing them to safety.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office told Chron the investigation into the cause of the crash remained open and charges would likely be filed against the driver.
It’s unclear if the children were in a car seat or properly restrained at the time of the accident.
The children were taken to a nearby hospital where they were said to be in serious, but stable condition. The occupant of the other vehicle was not injured.
